When He Places Others on Our Hearts

Love can seek you out like a bloodhound, even when you don't want to be found.  When it is inconvenient, inappropriate,...odd.  It chooses you, or He chooses it for you, and leaves you to resist, to misinterpret, to bungle things, to be confused...to fail miserably.

It's curious, isn't it?  That He has placed us here, to be Christ to one another?  We're so terribly inept, so incapable of seeing fully beyond ourselves.  At least....I am.

Yet, he places others on our hearts stubbornly, voraciously, without explanation.

I'm not sure why.  Maybe it's because people need to be loved.

More likely it's because we need to be healed by doing the loving...and by being forgiven for making such a hash of it.  Perhaps that it what He has in mind, as we smugly make our feeble efforts.

Perhaps when we have thought that we were being called to love, we were really being loved, all along.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  ~ 1 Peter 4:8
