Commemoration of the Faithful Departed: All Souls' Day

Bovgvereav 1859, PD-US
The second of November is All Soul's Day. Even though we find indescribable hope and joy in the gift of Eternal Life through Christ Our Lord, we still miss those who have departed this life. This is a traditional day for visiting cemeteries, decorating the graves of deceased loved ones, and offering prayers for those "whom we love but see no more".

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8: 38-39

Eternal rest grant them O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.
