Purpose and Peace

I was reminded of something this morning. I really don't like to debate with people. I never really have, but when I was younger, pride would drive me to respond when confronted. These many years later I find that I have moved beyond my grad school years, on through many years of adulthood, and have firmly and confidently settled in to my carefully vetted opinions-- and frankly, I don't care if anyone agrees with me.  Instead, I care whether those opinions are biblically based and I am ordering my own life according to my priorities and purposes as informed by my Christian faith.

This blog is not intended to be a forum for debate. There are many places available for that purpose. My purpose here is to provide a place where people of faith might be edified, strengthened, and encouraged. I hope that, along the way, Christians of varying backgrounds and faith traditions might see common ground, or at least understand one another better. I hope that I might provide a few small sparks of inspiration for those who may wish to have their personal or family walk with Christ informed by the liturgical calendar and traditional observances. I pray that someone might be bolstered when he or she is down or discouraged. I hope that these pages might serve as a safe shelter for people of God in a world that shows increasing disdain for Christians. I pray that each of you might be blessed and strengthened in his or her vocation. I pray that in all I do, I may learn to act only in ways that are pleasing to my Lord.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Pax Christi dear ones,
~Michelle
