The Sky is Black
By Elyse
Girded by white frames
blue skies shine and shimmer
Fading daylight makes a dreamy canvas
Tufts of clouds slip onward, slow and lazy
Leaves of Fall touched daintily by wind
shake against the outside peeling fence posts
Grape vines tremble, rotted edges browned
The sky is grey, blending with hazy clarity into
evening. Plants are hard to see
against the fence. Died-down winds
Pastel gone dull
The sky is black, the flowers vanished, gone
